add notes to an email

hi!
can any one guide me : i need to add notes on various emails. notes which
give me information on what action was taken on this email, on what date or
maybe what was the outcome ? can such a note be attached to any email in
microsoft outlook
 
Create the Note-> Open the message-> Edit-> Edit Message-> Insert->
Item...-> select the note

-Create an Office 2003 CD slipstreamed with Service Pack 1
 
Or you can simply use the Flag for Follow up menu and enter a comment for
the flag as your note.

this seems to be useful. however when i edit the messge and go to insert
option the insert item option is disabled.
any clues ?

i tried this but the insert file option remains disabled even after i edit
the message ? any clues

Hmm, noticed that as well. Not to worry; you can drag & drop the Note item
in it as well.
