add new hardware security

I am logged on at home (to my home computer) as the
administrator. When I try to install my USB camera W2K
tells me I do not have the correct security privilege to
install new hardware. As administrator I have full
access. Whats the deal?
 
Double check that you actually are logged on as a local administrator. You can
use "net user username" to see if administrators is shown as one of the local
groups you belong to. If that checks out then somehow some of your security
settings may have changed. See the link below on how to reset your security
