After using adaware to remove hijackers\malware, I
quarantined all (including the image.dll file)and
selected remove. Now I am receiving an error message
(obviously). Error loading C:\Windows\image.dll The
specified module could not be found. Although the
machine is new, I do not have the XP software - only a
license key OEM. Is there any way to copy this file back?

I've had the same problem when I took an Ad-aware scan. What I did was just to restore my pc back to a restore point before the Ad-aware scan took place. Next time you scan for adaware, just be asure you're not deleting this file again (put it on ignore, or something).

"It is a trojan horse and ordinary antivirus programs cannot catch it.
The best is to download cwshredder now version 1.50 it will take care
of the problem."

The file might well be malware. You need to find all references to it
in the registry and delete them. You can also go to Start > Run >
msconfig
startup tab and uncheck mentions of this file.

Good luck
