I dunno how it got into a new thread... I must have
clicked new post, or something...

But, as far as anti virus software... we have Norton
something-or-rather on a server, and then it runs
remotely on our computers. So, I'm told we can't get
viruses, because it catches them before it ever hits our
computers.

As far as where jmdpnc32.exe is located:
C:\Windows\System32

There is another file called jmdpnc32.exe-10594C53.pf in
C:\Windows\Prefetch

Does this help?

Just to add to Wesley's advice...when you find the file, right click on it
and view its properties. That often contains enough information to give you
at least a good clue of where the file came from.

It's almost certainly a virus or spyware.

I don't see anything in the properties that specifically
helps me know where it came from.

If it's a virus/spyware, how come no one's heard of it
before?

~JOSh-X

Because the purveyors of scumware are ahead of the people who offer fixes.
Web searches for jmdpnc32.exe bring back spelling errors. Either you
spelled it wrong or it *is* scumware or a virus.

Ctrl + Shift + Esc opens Task Manager |
Do you see jmdpnc32.exe??
Click the Processes tab |
Do you see jmdpnc32.exe??

JMDPNC32.EXE-10594C53.pf by itself is not a problem. It's a Prefetch file.
It just allows JMDPNC32.EXE to start faster.

WOW! That is a GREAT keyboard shortcut!

It isn't there :-/ and I've never seen it in there... I
just know that it crashes on shutdown (often).

Also... I don't know if this is related... but it
definitely doesn't lend to support my case that it isn't
spyware/virus related...

every 8-12 min. my internet explorer turns ON the options
to store passwords and forms. Does that help identify
this as a virus/spyware?

My friend/boss had me email him a zipped version of the
file... and this was the message he received from our
server:

Symantec Mail Security replaced jmd-file.zip with this
text message. The original file contained a virus and
was quarantined.

If it crashes, it must be running.

AdAware just had a new update. Open AdAware | Click:
Check for updates now | get the update and run AdAware
again.

I had already updated before running it earlier. I just
checked, and there were no updates since then.

I always check for updates before I run it.

I know it has to be running at some point... the
question, I guess, is... what triggers it to run... and
then what does it do? And if it indeed is turning on
this store passwords/forms thing in IE, then who has my
sensitive information :'( ???

Looks like Symantec let a virus on your machine.
Better have your machine scanned for virii.

Wes - I would be cautious about saying that Symantec allowed a viruses onto
the user's machine. It's never allowed one on my computer. We don't know
anything about the user's configuration.
