Hello all,
I have recently upgraded my hp laptop computer to windows
xp professional, and I also have a Toshiba laptop running
xp home; both have service pack two. Both have wireless
laptop cards which are compatible with each other at 11mb
(s).
My problems is that I want to create an 'Ad Hoc' network
between the laptops, using their cards in a peer-to-peer
setup which shares my HP laptop's speedtouch usb internet
connection as well as sharing files and printers between
the two computers.
However, after many hours of frustration, I have
successfully created the ad hoc wireless network, and can
access the files of the HP laptop on the toshiba computer
but not the other way around. I am still unable to allow
the Toshiba laptop to connect to the internet through the
HP pc's connection either.
Please do not simply tell me to use 'network setup
wizard' as it seems to have absolutely no effect on the
matter.
In addition, my HP windows xp professional laptop was
previously loading into the windows welcome screen but
now comes into a network sign-in screen similarly to a
business network. Why does this now happen, how can i get
back to the welcome screen? Does this effect networking?
As far as I am aware both computers have the same domain
name.
