My computer won't boot now that I ran ad-aware from lavasoft. It
appears that they delete important files as well as the spyware.
Atleast with the spyware my computer was working. No I will need to
have a computer tech come out and fix it. There should be a class
action lawsuit against their company for messing up peoples computers!

Don't blame AdAware for your problem. Blame the people who make the spyware.
Why don't you explain with a little more detail what happened include
complete error messages.

I have the Free version of this application and i think you should go into
the setup tabs and read how you can set it up to do what you want rather
than allow it to delete stuuff randomly..It won't delete anything unless you
don't set it up correctly... I bet that is the problem, you didn't read the
instructions, in other words.. This has been a very satisfactory app for me
and i can't imagine how it couldn't be made to work so you are happy with
it..

Ad-Aware creates a "Quarantine" Backup in cases where items are
removed that need to be restored to the registry. So you can recover
any "Spyware/Trojans" and as you say "Important Files" back to your
PC. As to a class action suit you would probably not find too many
willing participants to join you in suing Lavasoft.

Obviously your pc was quite messed up before you ran ad-adware. And yes
you do have to get rid of all the trash you've accumulated. Now you have
to repair the damage the spyware has caused. In other words, in the
future dont blame a good utility for your horrid
browsing/surfing/downloading/installing spyware habits.

I know this is not very helpful but you should have used the backup option,
then you could have restored the deleted files.

.
ignorance is bliss!!!

you have certainly shown your ignorance in your post.

you should box the computer up and send it back to the
oem.

Adaware works fine for me! Maybe you need to blame your computer not a piece
of software.....

Been using Ad-aware for years without any problems. I would sugggest
reading installation setup, features, etc. I've graduated to the Pro
version and it still hums along doing its job.

When a badly maintained Windows platform collapses, (due to the ignorance of
the owner), it's nearly always that last unfortunate software application
that gets blamed !

I've only just noticed this post - i.e. you started a new thread since this
one - on this subject.

Did AdAware make you download their software?
Did they make you install it?
Did they make you not read the manual?
Did they make you run it?
If you can answer yes to the above questions, then you may have "class
action" grounds to stand on, otherwise it is a simple user error.

That does not sound like the correct diagnosis. Even if it did occur
you can use the restore option to put the quarantined files back in place.
