I read somewhere that if a server is a DC with AD you can't have it be a web
server with IIS.
Is this true? or was it just for win2k not win2k3?
I can't find where I read it and want to configure a DC to be an internal
web server.

This depends...

If we're talking about an Internet server then this is a serious no-no!

If we're talking about an intranet server, then this is OK -although it is
dependent on aspects such as load, useage, etc.

If you want to use some of the http print functions, etc. then this is a
must...

IIS is installed by default in Win 2000 but not in Win Server 2003. Perhaps
this is what you were looking for?

Best practice says that a typical Win 200x DC should never be a IIS / web
server.

Thanks.
It will be for a simple internal website only so there is no security risk
as no web traffic outside owa even comes through the firewall.
Traffic is low, company is small and needs to consolidate to save $$ on
hardware.

Thanks,
Rob
