I keep getting at boot up,"Your current security settigs
prohibit running ActiveX controls on this page. As a
result, the page may not display correctly" dialog box.
I cannot run ScanDisk or Disk Defragment. Dr Watson
detect no errors. This seemed to happen right after we
downloaded a security pak from microsoft.

Did you check your active x settings in Tools/Internet
Options/Security/Custom Level? If you are referring to Outlook Express,
make sure you have "Internet Zone" checked in Tools/Options/Security. Hope
that helps.

Laura, i have exactly the same problem. All i did was update windows
yesterday (25th) with 2 critical updates.I also notice that when i now open
folders there is a "no entry" sign in the bottom right saying "restricted
sites". If i try to open files in that folder i get a message "are you sure
you want to open a file from this location?"
The security settings for IE have obviously been tightened up but how do we
relax them?
