I keep re-reading the article on active x in KB and what it's supposed to be
and how to change it and my brain turns to mush.

Can anybody speak to me in anything other than the language of cooked cereal
about this? Please just don't tell me what the KB says, as I've seen other
responses here.

I run voice activated software because I have to, so I know this could be
causing the notification. I also use Krieger's fine Microsoft Office Document
Designer which is also a culprit. I'm running XP Pro behind firwalls and a
virus detector and I do get documents from strangers.

So, how in the normal day do I open Word, Excel and PP without waiting two
hours for the program to load and then and hitting a button?

Hi J.L.,

What version of Word?

Which of the Microsoft KB articles that mention Active X
are you referring to?

Are you on a standalone PC, a network, terminal services, etc.
