Every time I go into live update and try to dowload
microsoft product I get an error message saying
"Security Settings Prohibit Running ActiveX controls on
this page." No matter what I try it doesn't work. I've
called HP and they don't know how to get rid of it either.

What can I do?

I ran into this same problem. Check your date and time to
make they are correct and update your browser. If this
fails, which it did for me, I had to restore the registry
for a few specific files.

regsvr32 softpub.dll
regsvr32 wintrust.dll
regsvr32 initpki.dll
regsvr32 dssenh.dll
regsvr32 rsaenh.dll
regsvr32 gpkcsp.dll
regsvr32 sccbase.dll
regsvr32 slbcsp.dll
regsvr32 cryptdlg.dll
