Windows 98 SE
FrontPage 2000
ActiveSync 3.5
I have been using FrontPage 2000 on Windows 98 SE to
develop web sites. I use a Global.asa file in my webs.
When I open the Global.asa with FrontPage, it stops before
opening it and asks how I want to open it: HTML, RTF or
Text. I always choose HTML. After opening, I can view the
plain text content on the FrontPage HTML view tab. This
works fine for me and It's what I expect.
I recently got an HP Jornada w/ Pocket PC 2000. I want to
install Active Sync (AS) on the PC described above so I
can sync with my calendar, tasks, etc. Unfortunately,
after installing AS (I've tried versions 3.5 delivered on
CD w/ the Jornada, and 3.7.1 downloaded from MS) FrontPage
doesn't open my Global.asa file in the same manner. It
goes directly to converting it to RTF format, without
asking for a confirmation, and inserts HTML tags as if
preparing it to be used a regular HTML page. When I
uninstall AS, FP behavior returns to "normal".
Is there a way I can install AS and FP and still open the
GLobal.asa the way I like it?
