Active X

I use XP Home , I keep on getting "security settings prohibit running active x controls on this page" messages . everything used to work ok , tried to reset various stuff but cann't resolve my problem .

do you mean while you are in IE?
 
You need to reset your security settings. They are set to high at present. If you have a good anti-virus program and your firewall enabled then you can set most security settings to medium or lower withouth much worry. With your IE open click tools\internet options\security tab\ and choose one of the four option in the top window by clicking on it and then click the custom level button and then choose any of the active X setups you want by putting a dot in the appropriate circle. Personally I allow everything but then Ihave layers upon layers of protection and don't worry about anyone violating my XP.
