After I had installed SP2, below is an error message I get when I tried to
open a web site I copied from CD ROM to my HDD.

A current version of Microsoft Internet Explorer is not supporting
JavaScript. If you do not install Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.01 or
greater, Microsoft Training Viewer may not operate properly. For more
information on Microsoft Internet Explorer, visit
http://www.microsoft.com/ie. If you are installing this product from a
network server, contact your system administrator.

I then clicked on the top of the page to allow active contents to access my
computer, another popup window display the same message and do nothing, the
popup window remained blank.
I followed instructions and went to Tools and popup blocker I set it to
allow, but I still not getting anywhere.
I don't get this problem on everysite site; only on the ones with active x
control, can any one help me to setup my browser security to allow the sites
I trust.

Cheers!!

Kim

Thanks Ramesh,

I followed the site suggestion, went to Tools and Internet Options in the
Advanced
I scrolled down to allow active contents to run on my computer and that did
it for me.
Does this nows mean it will not prompt me again until I turn it off?

Cheers

Yes. You'll not see the Information bar for Locally accessed content. But,
remember that you're excluding iexplore.exe from using the
LOCALMACHINE_LOCKDOWN feature of XP SP2 (on a per-user basis, of course)

If there are only few pages, you should use the "Mark of the web" content
such as this one:
(example <!-- saved from url=(0023)http://www.contoso.com/ --> ), as
described in the LOCAL_MACHINE_LOCKDOWN Developer implications. This method
does not disable the LOCALMACHINE_LOCKDOWN feature of XP SP2.

Ramesh,

I rather have the "mark of the web" option as IK don't really want to
exclude iexplorer.

Thanks

Kim

You're welcome Kim.
