active-x errors

since we rolled over to the new year I have been getting active-x can not be displayed with current settings

this worked fine before the change of year

I have XP home edition

and I have not installed SP2 yet my settings say to accept all safe active-x and run scripts
and I I have security set to inter net not restricted

anyone have ideas on why I am having a problem

I can not get to my banking sites either I get the home page up and then click or try to sign on and
get page can not be displayed

but yet on my old computer with windows 98 I have no problems and everything works as it should

HELP!

well i dont have an answer 4 you bonnie but i do have a similar problem. yet mine is intermittant/sporadic redirects to the configuration instructions. its frustrating the #*@# out of me. another difference is i have downloaded sp2 correctly i.e. installed all the correct drivers prior. whats the deal ?

ok I did a systen restore to yesterday dec 31

I had checked and SP2 had been installed on the computer

so now everything works and SP2 is no longer showing as installed

I did not install it so no idea how it got installed
I have my computer set up to ask to download not auto

could SP2 have caused the active-x problems and also
and sites to not show and show as page not found?
they are working just fine now
