not a very complex question but...
I reinstall XP, both the Home and Pro Upgrade variety, upwards of two times
a month on both my desktop and laptop... don't ask, obsessiveness... The
activation codes for both versions expired some time ago, but this hasn't
really been a problem because of the perpetual reinstallations until now.
So... I am wondering how I go about getting then codes renewed or getting a
new code, does the process require a telephone call, if so is the number a
24hr one, or am I maybe just ***t-out-of-luck because I pressed F8 too
quickly and too often... thanks for the help, i'm going to go keep looking...

Activation is an automatic process, if connected to the net.

Should it produce an error message you can choose to 'talk to a
representative' and get a phone number for your locality.

They should be helpful folk who give you a new set of numbers to enter.

There's no limit to the number of times you can reinstall and
activate the same WinXP license on the same PC. Nor is there ever a
charge. Nor does a Product Key (so long as it's not an evaluation
license) ever expire. If it's been more than 120 days since you last
activated that specific Product Key, you'll most likely be able to
activate via the Internet without problem. If it's been less, you
might have to make a 5 minute phone call.

Here are the facts pertaining to activation:
