Activation Problem

I have Windows XP Professional OEM that I bough when I built my computer at
the beginning of the year. Recently my motherboard failed and I RMA'd it. The
replacement is the same make/model, but the next revision. Windows has given
me 3 days to re-activate. I understand there is a very limited number of
these in OEM products (three?) and I'm going to upgrade my CPU in January,
and in any case I probably need to do a clean install as Windows seems to
have gotten corrupt. I'm worried that I might soon have a worthless coaster
and it seems to me that this is somewhat out of order by Bill and his gang.

I can't see any way to get a warm human being to listen to my problem, or
even send an email without spending as much as the software cost originally.

Is there anything I can do?

If you have a "generic" OEM version of Windows XP, you are
entitled to replace a defective motherboard and reactivate,
although you may have to "activate by phone" if internet
activation is not successful.

Select the option to "activate by phone" to obtain a
new activation code.
