activating xp after repair installation

I've been having tons of problems with XP freezing at
various times. I finally decided to try a repair
installation. I went through the process to repair my
installation. Everything seemed to go okay until I got
to the point where it was actually doing the
installation. When it got to the Installing Devices
point, it hung right in the middle and always had "35
minutes" remaining. I re-tried the repair install 3
times, even leaving the system overnight, and it always
remained in the same spot, no matter how long I left it.
At that point, I couldn't boot into anything except setup
and I couldn't recover anything to boot into. I finally
found an article on the web to at least get me to the
point where I could boot and I copied some recovery files
over. Now, I can boot into windows but when I do, it
tells me I need to activate before I can log on. If I
select yes, my desktop displays briefly and then
the "windows xp logging off" screen displays after which
I'm asked to activate the product again. If I say no, it
immediately logs me off without displaying the desktop,
but I get the same product activation question again. Is
there any way I can re-activate windows and get on to my
desktop?

Did anyone ever explain to you when in 6th-7th grade the value of paragraphs
in text? Do you ever notice them when reading a book or news paper?

Makes reading quite a bit easier on the eyes, doesn't it?

I am having a very similar problem. My XP decided not to
boot (System file corrupt), and after repairing from the
CD, i am being asked to activate the product after login.
Both yes and no log the machine off.

Any advice appreciated.
