Action buttons

I use the remote that came with my slide projector to advance PP slides
during a presentation. Is there a way to activate the action buttons using
a remote? I am using Powerpoint 2000.

I normally use Interlink's RemotePoint Presenter - it's a remote mouse,
presentation controller and laser pointer.
