Yes, you are right! I subscribe a German computer magazine called CHIP. Some
months ago there was the full version of TrueImage (v. 6.0) on its DVD. Yes
it's old, but it works flawlessly.

Or buy this months Computer Buyer which has the Paragon version that
does the same thing. But the best is Symantec Ghost which clones and
better still disk copies over a network for total disk protection. I
know, I did one less than a hour ago. May not be free but for regular
disk bakups plus the ability to recover everything using a floppy is a
lifesaver. A bit like a proprietry restoration cd but you have control
in what you bakup and restore come to that.

How define then this software? *magazineware* maybe?

Nope, simply: "free for those that bought the mag, commercial for others".

Exactly, but this version isn't really sold by Acronis anymore. The magazine
will probably provide cheaper advertising, and Acronis gets the message out!
I have actually upgraded and run now version 8.0 since it offers incremental
backups, and it is faster.
Free software is nice, but paying for this goodie has saved me lots of hours
and nerves already...:-)
It never failed as far as I am concerned.
