Hi,
i have recently netowrked my two Windows XP Home Edition computers to each
other, but have a question.
How can i access my personal documents on the remote computer from the one i
am setting at now? By personal documents i mean the files located in
\Docuemnts and Settings\<username>\. I have set the HDD on the remote
computer to be shared on the network. On my local system computer i have
mapped the remote computers HDD (Drive C) to my local one as Drive L. When
mapping the drive i also click on the "Connect as a different user" text and
entered the unsername and password that i use to login to the remote
computer. I also ticked the "Rconnect at logon" checkbox. However after doing
all this if i go to L:\Documents and Settings\<my username> in Windows
Explorer or My Computer I get the following error message "L:\Documents and
Settings\<my username> is not accessible Access is Denied".
I am set as an administrator on both computers. I also used this same method
when connecting a Windows XP Home Edition and Windows Me computer, and was
able to access my documents stored on the remote computer when doing this
with the Windows XP Home Edition and Windows Me computers.
As i could do it with a Windows XP Home Edition and one that was older than
Windows XP, i'm sure this can be done between two Windows XP Home Edition
computers.
Am i doing anything wrong? How would i go about getting this to work?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
