Dear all,

I have a user account in Outlook, and the account contains lots of
email. I found that sometimes when I start outlook to check email, an
error box poped up telling me the mail server "localhost" was not able
to connect to.

I checked the account settings and found that the settings went all
wrong, the POP3 mail server has chenged from "mail.abc.com" to
"localhost", and the username has changed from "username" to
"username/mail.abc.com"

Nobody has been altering the account settings, and I found that another
computer using Outlook Express also has this problem recently. The
problem happens occasionally and the settings will go wrong again after
a few days. No virus or trojans was found in the computer.

I was using Outlook 2002 (10.4712.4219) SP2 with Windows XP
professional(build 2600.xpsp2.030422-1633: Service Pack 1).

It is your antivirus or firewall - get an update from the vendor that will
fix this problem. OTherwise, turn off mail scanning.
