account lockout policy

windows xp professiona

after three failed login attempts the account was locked out.. including the default administrator account
i believe the default is set to 30 minutes, however they are still locked out after 60..
any help

Maybe it is getting repeatedly locked ?
Try raising the threshold to at least 5 bad attempts.
Some MS docs have been suggesting quite higher limits.
Also, while the defaults for clearing a lockout and for the
count to trigger it is 30 minutes, you should check to see
if the machine is set to use these defaults. It is possible to
set it to never unlock based on elapsed time.
