I want to prevent accidental drag & dropping of folder....
Is there a way to have XP give a warning/confirmation ?

Didn't previous version have this feature ?

thanks

If you inadvertently moved a folder, you can go to the Edit menu, click
"Undo -- Undo move". This assumes you catch yourself immediately from the
inadvertent folder move.

The best method to "copy" or "move" is to use the "Right-Click" button for
drag and drop. That is, the "Right-Click" button gives you the (option) to
"copy" or "move" when you release the mouse button. Many Users use the
"left-click" button, but that's where they get in trouble, whey they perform
the drag-and-drop function. So, try to practice with "good habit"
computing, "Right-Click" is one important mouse button.

Use TweakUI - one of the XP Powertoys from (if you have installed XP
SP1)
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp

If you have not installed SP1, the earlier version can be found at
http://download.microsoft.com/download/whistler/Install/2/WXP/EN-US/TweakUiPowertoySetup.exe

Once installed you will find it in Start - All Programs - Powertoys for
Windows XP

In its mouse page, increase the setting for 'drag sensitivity to say 25.
That will mean you have to drag about 25 pixels before the system thinks
you are doing it intentionally, which is *much* less easy to do by
accident
