Hello,

I have an access 2000 database which is stored on a Windows 2000 sbs, it is
accessed by 4 x win 2000 clients and 2 x windows xp and is around 8mb in
size. This database is corrupts every day that it is used in a multi user
environment. Cant rememeber the full message but it states that the database
is corrupt and needs to be repaired.

The database repairs and compacts fine and also compiles ok to. I have all
the up to date patches for the operation systems and also for office 2000 and
jet 4.0.

I wondered if it was because I am running both 2000 and XP client???
Any help on this matter would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advanced

Matt

Take a look at these KB Articles. They're describe some of the issues that
are commonly involved in frequent recurring database corruption issies, and
are pretty detailed.

Matt, have you split the database so that each user has their own copy of
the front end, and the tables are linked to a shared back end mdb?

There is a wizard to do that for you:
Tools | Database Utilities | Database Splitter
For an explanation of the concept, see:
Split your MDB file into data and application
at:

I would expect that to fix the problem, but for other suggestions, see:

Unlikely. Running a mix of Win 95/98/ME and Win NT/2000/XP clients
without the OpLocks setting was a problem but not 2000 and XP.

For more information on corruption including possible causes,
determining the offending PC, retrieving your data, links, official MS
KB articles and a list of vendors who state they can fix corruption
see the Microsoft Access Corruption FAQ at
