How can I access my Windows Mail account from a computer away from home? I
want to be able to check my emails when not at home.

Depending on your provider, they may have IMAP access.

With IMAP, you can have as many email clients as you want and anywhere you
want and can see all your emails saved in as many different folders as you
want and each computer will see the same message in the same place even if
it isn't the same client on the computer that moved it there. Have several
different clients running on the same computer if you wish. None is perfect,
so use each for what it does best.

IMAP has been around for many many years, but sadly way too few ISPs support
it, but some DO.

GMAIL has supported it since the end of last year.

You can configure a client on a borrowed or rented computer anywhere in the
world and when finished there simply delete your account(s) from that
client. Does not impact your other client(s) access from any of your other
computers. POP3 is an antique, and simply is old and stupid and a PIA to use.

DON"T waste your time with either of the free email clients on Vista -
neither works well yet or possibly ever - (just how long should it have
taken MS to fix something this broken if they even actually cared? However,
W2K or XP with OE works well.
