i have 3 computer connected with a Netgear DS104 router. Each computer runs
Windows XP Pro. File sharing between them works fine. However, I connected a
cable modem to the router and I have the following problem:

1 When computer A is connected to the internet computer B has no access, as
in "Page cannot be displayed" and AOL cannot find connection.

2. If I shut computer B down and reset the modem I can get into the internet
and use AOL with Computer B. But computer A now reports "Page cannot be
displayed" and AOL has lost it's connection.

In short computer A and B cannot be connected to the internet at the same
time.

Sounds as if you did not plug in your cable modem to the proper port on the
router.

I want to thank those who took the time to respond. Finally was able to get
in touch with a tech at the cable company. He knew what the problem was.
Seems the Netgear DS104 Router was to blame. It's not a real router, it's a
hub. So it would not let more than one pc online at a time by design. I
replaced the DS104 and the problem went away. Now all three computers can
access the internet as well as talk to each other. Again Thanks.
