I have some XP Clients in a network with mostly NT and
2000 Clients. The problem I'm having is accessing the XP
Pro Client from a NT or 2000 client when I want to copy a
file or connect to a shared directory. The dialog box for
entering the ID and password to get into the client comes
up, I enter the correct ID and password but nothing
happens. The Dialog box remains and I never get into the
system. I have all the setting for sharing on the xp
system set right, I think, and it is in the same
workgroup or domain. What little piece of the puzzle am I
missing to get this to work? Other NT and 2000 clients
allow me to login to them no problem. What did microsoft
do to XP that makes it antisocial? Thanks in advance for
any help with this problem.

I think that this is a longshot, but make sure that the XP Pro
Client's computer name contains 1-15 letters and numbers -- no special
characters or blanks.
