A hard drive went bad on me and it will not boot, anymore. On the hard drive
is information that I need but it is all under the Administrator's account.
It will not allow me to take ownership of the data files and all I need is
the folder my doccuments, but it will not give me permission to retrieve
them. Is there any way to do so? I have another pc running WinXP Pro
installed and can access the drive to look at the files.

The folder is being protected for the "other you" - your old account. Take
ownership of the folder and/or files to regain access to them.
