A client of mine has Outlook 2002 installed on their XP machine. They have
now added a second machine to the environment (a small store with now two
POS systems). They want to know if they can access their email from either
computer simultaneously. ie... outlook may be open on one machine but if a
sales agent is busy on that machine, they would like to be able to go to the
other computer to access/send etc.. email.

Is this possible with the .pst file setup at all? If not, what are the
options besides closing one down before acccessing it on another machine?

Thanks,

Brad

See this for ways to share data: http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/share.htm

A simple solution is to set both machines to leave messages on server. Email
Accounts, Internet settings, Advance Tab. This way if you open a machine and
download the email and then open the next machine it will still be able to
download the same email. The pain in the butt part is you have to make sure
you have a system in place for cleaning out the server especially if you get
a lot large files.

good luck

Naturally, this doesn't address any issues of sharing of contact or calendar
data, but since the OP didn't ask for that, it may not be an issue and this
suggestion will be fine. Of course, this suggestion is not "sharing" in any
way.
