I reciently purchased a new computer and hard drive. After I got it running, I tried to hook up my old hard drive to use it as a back-up/storage drive. Windows sees the drive and can even access certain files. But when I try to open up some of the higher level files, it give me an "Access is Denied" message, no matter what process I use. I didn't have a password on my old system, and it was XP Home, the same as I am using now. What could I do to get to these files? Or do I just have to take them as a loss and format my old hard drive away?

Hi goldtouch_007,

Follow the instructions in this MSKB article for taking ownership of
