change to High Contrast and back, but somehow I can't find out how to
stop the alert coming up... Please help, emf

You've posted this before and you were asked "what alert?" Unless you
provide a better description of the problem, including the wording of
the "alert", no one can help you.

How to post on Usenet:

I knew I had posted it before, but somehow I couldn't find it among the
messages. The Alert I am talking about says:

===========================
HighContrast

Pressing the left SHIFT, left ALT, and PRINT SCREEN keys turns on High
Contrast. High Contrast improves readability to people with visual
impairments by applying a special system color scheme and font size.

To keep High Contrast on click OK.
To cancel High Contrast click Cancel.
To deactivate the key combination to High Contrast, click Settings
,
OK Cancel Settings
===========================

There is no option not to show this again, and couldn't find how do this
from the Accessibility in the Control Panel..

Does this alert come up in a dialog box or when you hover your mouse
over something? If a dialog box, how often does it show up? I have
clients using the High Contrast option and they don't have any alert
coming up on their machines.

It comes up in a dialog box every time I use the desktop shortcut to
switch to High Contrast. I didn't have this problem with Windows 98. -emf

I see. I guess my clients don't have that issue since they simply leave
the High Contrast setting on and aren't toggling it. Since you're doing
a fairly non-standard thing, I guess you'll either have to live with it
or find another way of setting up your computer's display so it works
for you - different fonts, colors, etc.

This site has a list of all the Microsoft newsgroups.

I see that there is a microsoft.public.windowsxp.accessibility
newsgroup. Try posting your question in there. Include all pertinent
information in your *first* post.
