I had Access 2000 on my PC and upgraded to Access 2002.
After the upgrade I created a database in 2002.
In the title bar the database shows as:
Microsoft Access - [dbname : Database (Access 2000 file
format)]
Why the 2000 format?
Do I lose funtionality?
How do I change the database to the 2002 file format?
Many thanks in advance.

A2K2 creates mdb files in A2K0 by default. If you want Access to create
(new) mdb files in A2K2 file-format, change the "Default File Format"
setting in Tools / Options... / Advanced tab.

No, you don't lose any functionality. The advantage is that your database
(in A2K0 file-format) can also be used with A2K0 software. However, new
A2K2 features you used in the database won't be available to A2K0-software
users (A2K2-software users will have everything you used in the database).

If you want to change existing A2K0-format MDB files to A2K2 file-format,
use the Menu Tools / Database Utilities / Convert database...
