Access work exchange server from home...

My company has a setup on the exchange server to access our work email
from outside the company through a web browser. I would rather be able
to have outlook go and retrieve the messages from the server and not use
the web browser. Unfortunately the company says that we CAN'T do that. I
don't believe it. I figure that there may be certain ports to use or
something, but any help would be greatly appreciated. The address for
the email is something like this:

https://csfowa.thisisamadeupname.com/exchange/root.asp

This link, which is what I type in the browser to access the server,
wont actually work since I changed up the name but should give everyone
the jist of what I am trying to accomplish. Thanks for any help.

Respect your work's decision. Use OWA or not. But don't expect strangers
to tell you how to "hack" your corporate network. VPN access is a decision
that your IT department and management have decided not to use. And any
particulars of how to access Exchange via VPN depends on the software used
for the VPN access.

I'm not trying to "hack" it. If that's what it will take then I will
just use the OWA access. I was just curious as to whether the web link
"could" be set up to work in outlook or not. Thanks for answering the
question though.
 
And since Wes is using an https: address, Outlook + HTTP is not going to be an option.

The web link cannot be used with the Outlook client.
