I have a workgroup set up with a win2K and winXP computer but i can not
access the winXP from the win2k but I can access the hidden shares fine from
the other way. FYI: i am using the run command with the unc
\\computer_name\C$ or \\computer_ip-address\C$ also both computers have a
user account which are members of the administrators group.

Hi Henry,

I think you can connect to c$ share, because they are admin share. When you
are trying to connect to visible shares the computer forces to connect over
guest account. Try to uncheck the "Use simple file sharing" in "windows
explorer" \ "tools" \ "folder options" \ "view".
