Access Violation in wow32.dll

I am using XP home edition and it can runs my accounting software tally v5.4. OK, but after the some automatic updates have been installed (i guessed), my accounting software can not be opened at all

The message is : wtally caused an access violation in wow32.dll at 0x0ffbd69

The O/S is a package with my HP computer

Please help me with this asap, thank you.

This type of error is usually caused by running an older application
designed for a 16 bit environment. You might want to try running it in
compatibility mode.
