what is best way to start this process?

good website or book on converting my access program to
web base program.

Your Access forms and reports will not convert to web based. For this you
will need some sort of web page technology, such as ASP, PHP, etc.

I assume you want to open up your database to the whole internet for usage.
If only for an intranet, where you can somewhat control the client machines,
perhaps look into Data Access Pages in Access 2000 and above.

While ASP may perhaps be easier to get started with, it has no long-term
future, as it is being rapidly superseded by ASP.NET. If you want to get
something up and running quickly, ASP may be the way to go, but if you want
to learn skills that will continue to have career value for years to come,
I'd go with ASP.NET.

The spammers and script-kiddies have succeeded in making it impossible for
me to use a real e-mail address in public newsgroups. E-mail replies to
this post will be deleted without being read. Any e-mail claiming to be
from brenreyn at indigo dot ie that is not digitally signed by me with a
GlobalSign digital certificate is a forgery and should be deleted without
being read. Follow-up questions should in general be posted to the
newsgroup, but if you have a good reason to send me e-mail, you'll find
a useable e-mail address at the URL above.

Ah, now I understand, Kevin. I must admit that I was a bit surprised to read
that you were 'learning ASP on the job' at this time! :-)

For anyone who may be wondering whether it matters ("Isn't ASP.NET just the
next version of ASP?") well, no, it isn't - the differences are much more
fundamental and far-reaching than that.

Well, there is that, too - there are a lot of 'classic' ASP sites around
that will continue to need maintenance and enhancement. It's not going to
disappear overnight. It's all a question of priorities.
