Access to password protected files

My daughter had her logon to XP password protected, and thus her documents
were also protected. My motherboard died and I had to replace....also had to
reload XP to get it to work. We set up her id the same, but are unable to
open
her documents. She's freakin' out because her diary is in there.
How do we access these files?
