Friends,
My laptop (Windows XP Professional) suddenly has stopped working and I am
waiting for it to be picked up and fixed by the hardware vendor.I extracted
the HD and housed it in a USB Caddie to access its files from another
computer (Windows XP Home Edition).
I see all the files but I can not read my personal folders and files
(including my emails).
Could you explain why and how I can access my files without having to wait
weeks for the computer to be returned.

Regards to all,
Shah

HOW TO: Take Ownership of a File or Folder in Windows XP

NOTE: You must be logged on to the computer using an account that has administrative
privileges. If you are running Windows XP Home Edition, in order to have access to
the Security tab, you must first start in Safe Mode and log on with an account that
has Administrative rights.

Thank you to everyone for your help.
I am sorry fr the multiple posts but the server kept telling me that because
of an error, the message was not posted.
