Access should have an easier way to create charts for reports.

I have a hard time trying to create a chart on a report in Microsoft Access
2003. My report's recordsource is a query and the chart is driven by the
same query. I want a simple chart to have Years(from data in my table) on
the y-axis and Responses(from data in my table) on the x-axis. I can't get
the chart to visually produce this and it should be really simple.

I would recommend that Microsoft put some extra effort into making charts
easier to manipulate in Access.

Thanks,
Lesley Kennemur

I agree wholeheartedly - trying to create a basic x,y chart that just plots
a single point for each x,y co-ordinate has driven me up the wall and caused
me to waste a huge amount of time. I'm extremely disappointed to see that the
charting is just as un-user friendly in the Access 2007 test drive. Please
please do something about this - I can't believe that charts have stayed this
way throughout progressive versions of access.

Create a line chart with visible markers but with a line color of None.

Thanks but I tried that. I've got a query that produces a risk code (the
series) probability (value 1-10) which is the x value, and impact (1-10) the
y value. The line chart will only plot 1 of these and treats the rest as
series.

Does Tools/Office Links/Analyze It With MS Excell help?
