Access PST file on another PC using a shared network folder

Hi,

I have 2 PCs (desktop and laptop). Both PCs have outlook, and the desktop is
the main computer with the PST file.
Now, sometimes I work from another room using WiFi with my laptop and would
like to check/send emails using the same account.

Question: Can I share the folder with the PST file on the desktop and access
via the network from the laptop? I assume that I need to ensure that outlook
on the desktop is closed when I do this...and vice-versa.

Any issues or risks ?

thanks

It works in most cases but it is unsupported practise by Microsoft. Also
when the connection to the pst-file gets lost it could end up in a corrupted
pst-file.

What Robert said is true, but I've done it for quite some time now with no
problem. My home network is quite reliable and I don't leave Outlook
running when not at the computer(s) so that a power outage won't hurt any
open files because there aren't any.

I'm trying to do the same thing... How do you do it...set it up? Sometimes
I use my laptop and sometimes I use my desktop. I want to be able to
access/use the pst files resident on the laptop from the desktop (as the pst
file for the desktop).
