I am in the process of reviving an old web site. Everything seems fine, but
when I try to back it up by publishing it to another location on my hard
drive, about three quarters of the way through I get a message that says,
"An error has occurred accessing your web site. Authors, if authoring
against a web server..." This happens every time.

The problem is that I don't know how to find out what the error is. If there
is a problem with a particular page, which seems to be the case, how can I
find out which page it is?

It only happens with this particular web site.

Have you tried the usual repairs
1) In Windows Explorer Find and delete all FP Temp Files
2) In Windows Explorer Find and delete all hidden *.web files
3) In Windows Explorer Find and delete the file CMDUI.PRF
4) Disable or Uninstall any FP Addins
5) Run a Repair / Reinstall on FP & IE
6) Install all Service Packs for your OS, IE, and MS Office

Then Try to republish

Thanks for the reply. I do #1 and #2 regularly. I didn't try # 3 because my
other web site works fine, so I would not think this is an FP problem. But
you may be right. I have no add-ins. I'll try all the others.

thanks again,

Wally S
