Access predefined currency format has TT. How do I remove it?

I am taking a beginners class in Access. When I choose a currency field the
predefined format shows a TT before the dollar sign. The TT transfers to the
database. My instructor says to remove by editing the predefined field. Is
that possible and how do i do it?
 
Access doesn't have any pre-defined currency format of its own. It uses
whatever format is specified in the operating system's regional options. If
you're using Windows XP, choose 'Control Panel' from the 'Start' button
menu. Control Panel can be configured to use two different views, 'Category'
or 'Classic'. If using 'Category' choose 'Date, Time, Language and Regional
Options', then 'Change the format of numbers, dates and times'. If using
'Classic' view choose 'Regional and Language Options'.
