I saved some of my old archive folders (*.pst files) to a
cdrom. I tried to extract some of those files, but
outlook says that I do not have permission to access the
file. How do I over-ride what outlook is doing here? I
did not put any passwords in to Outlook when I installed
it, but now I have switched to a different machine. What
access protection am I running up against??

Outlook can't access a read-only pst file. Copy the pst to the local
machine and uncheck the read-only attribute.
