During my recent attempt to update to SP2 for XP I get an error "access is
denied." Clicking OK rolls back what of the install did occur and I'm left
with my initial SP1.

Anyone have any thoughts on how to fix or get around this error so I can
upgrade to SP2?

Thanks,
Mike

Unfortunately I have same problem. Tried install 3 times without luck, always
giving ACCESS ERROR after installing a number of dll files etc. Yet to find
any reference in technical write ups.

Generally Log on using ADMINISTRATOR or USER with these previleges so that installation can change/copy Registry/Files.

Michael Stevens [our resident pirate] has a link to the utility to assist you to pirate MS software. It is a good idea to visit his site!.

Hope this proves useful.

I use non Microsoft products wherever possible which requires no activation.

I use Netscape 7.2 as my default browser which has everything I need for my work.
