Access form opens showing no data until sort is done.

In Access 2002 a data form linked to a table with data in it opens showing no
data (records). Clicking on any field and then clicking on the sort icon or
choosing records and sort causes the records to appear. I cannot find any way
to change the way the form opens to show the records.
