I am in a intro into computers class and i have my office 2003 but it won't
let me change anything it says it is a read only file even though I made a
new copy for my homework. Can someone help me?

In Windows Explorer, right-click on the mdb file and choose properties.
Ensure the read-only box is unchecked.

thank you but i have tried to do that time and again and it comes up rights protected. Can you help me from here?

Is the file on your hard drive or on a CD? If your hard drive, does the
windows username you are using have full permissions to the folder where the
mdb is located? If it's on a CD, copy it from the CD to your hard drive.

Jane thank you again so much but it was a cd that i copied and it is still that way

the information you gave me is appreciated but i had already copied the cd.
Can you help me? I still cannot get it to do more than read only and I cannot
do my homework that way.

You must copy the file from the cd to your hard drive, and work on it there.
You can't work directly on the cd if you want to edit.
