Can anyone tell m e why the "Access Denied " error statement appears when
trying to modify the "start uP programs ?
Always quote error messages exactly, without paraphrasing. Always give some
information about your computer - operating system (Pro, Home, MCE),
service pack level, whether this is a domain member or standalone/Workgroup
PC, etc.
Looking into my Crystal Ball(tm), I see these possibilities:
1. You are trying to change startup settings using msconfig and get an
"access denied" error after you click Apply. If this is correct, do you
have an HP printer? If yes, this is a known issue and the changes get made
anyway so you can ignore the message.
2. Or you have security software running that is preventing you from making
changes to Startup.
3. Or your computer is infected and the malware is preventing you from
making changes to Startup.
4. Or your computer is a domain-member workstation and you don't have
authority to make the changes.
More details from you will help narrow down the troubleshooting.
