I want to delete a file called saaphook.dll It was part of a (free)
program that I downloaded and now even Pest Patrol can't remove it. When I
try to manually remove it I get the "Access Denied" message. I can't see
where I can "unprotect" the file either.

I have XP Home Edition SP2

Any suggestions?

Reboot your comp into safe mode and then try deleting the file, that should
work fine. If that doesn't do the trick, reboot the pc again but this time
as your pc begins to restart wait for the POST bleep and repeatedly press F8
which will bring up an options menu, from there select MSDOS prompt. Once
the prompt is up type in the directory that the file resides in e.g.
C:\program files\freeprogram and press enter, then type in Del *.* and press
enter. If you want to remove the directory that the file was in at this
stage, type .. and press enter, you should now see something like this
C:\program files now type in rd freeprogram (this being replaced with the
actual directory name) and press enter. Presto, problem solved, now press
Ctrl, Alt and delete and let the pc boot up as normal.

Hope that helps
