I have just had to replace my hard drive because the old
one is about to die, according to the manufacturer. But
it hasn't died yet, and the technician who installed the
new one left the old one in the case, connected.

That means I can easily copy files from the old hard
drive to the new one, right? Well . not exactly. There
is one id on the old hard drive that was password
protected and (I think) "private."

I NEED some of the files in that ID, but when I try to
access the folders under Documents and Settings\Private
ID, I get an access denied message.

How can I get around the problem and grab the files I
need?
