Access Denied

I recently somewhat idiotically decided to reload Windows XP as it was running slow with many mini freezes. I succeeded in doing so without erasing my files or anything but my old Document and Settings account name folder won't open. It says Access Denied when any of the folders are clicked inside it. I suppose this is from possibly marking it as private previously but the old system is corrupt and needs repairing, if even possible. I would very much aprreciate help.

Thankyou

NOTE: You must be logged on to the computer using an account that has
administrative privileges. If you are running Windows XP Home Edition, in order
to have access to the Security tab, you must first start in Safe Mode and log on
